Is it dishonest for me to have 2 separate Facebook pages?
One has my college friends, well, mostly friends of my sister's. I really don't use it often. The other one I created when our biological father contacted me saying that I should start a Facebook so that we can get to know each other better. I thought that if I added him to my old Facebook he'd get too much information about me, my sister, and our friends... He hasn't even tried to add her.
Is it dishonest to keep them separate? Ads |

we all have lives and we all have parents who we want to keep out of our lives to some extent.
in a way if its the only means of posting pics and other info then its understandable that you would choose facebook and its not wrong but he may just get the impression you have no friends and thats not a comfortable feeling for a parent to have about a child. it would be better to tell him that you have invited him to a separate page, because some of the people on your page are nosy and send rude messages to strangers |

No, I think you were right to have a "public" account and a more "private" account. It's not as if you are trying to be two different people, just have things in your life separate. Perfectly normal.

I have friends who are teachers that have two face-books - one for friends and family - one for students. |

It's not dishonest, it's normal. Everyone of us presents himself in a different way to different of groups of people. We don't act the same when we're with the family, with our boyfriend or with our friends, when we're at school, at work and so on ... we express ourselves differently and we show different sides of us some people of don't even know, even if they're with us every day. It's human. Facebook has not this possibility. The pics we post and the comments we make, our gruops and just everything is ... for everyone. Your family has the same view of you as your friends have. That's the negative point of Facebook. I believe your decision was smart.
