Can someone please help me on this guy?

So i just got into my first year of high school (at my country the school year starts at july and ends on june the next year) and during orientation week, i got into a team with this guy, he came from a small private school, and he was quite closed/introverted, he mostly listened to music or talked to only 1-3 guys, and that was it.
On the last day of orientation week, he was absent, so i dm-ed him via twitter ( i was the only girl in our team that followed him and he followed me back without having to mention him first) about the news like his new class, then he asked for the blackberry pin(s) of our team members, since i didn't have the other(s) pin(s) yet, i gave him mine, and he added me on bbm

We are both on the school basketball team, but it hasn't started training yet, so i don't know how that will go._.
He looks at me, a lot. But when i catch him looking at me, he looks at another direction quickly. Today he did it while talking to one of his friends, and he was smiling a lot and oddly, his friend looked at me quite a bit while smiling around at him - i hope i'm not being oversensitive but it feels like there someone looking at me a lot, and when i look at him, i catch him looking at me but then he looks at another direction quickly, like i said.

He's known to be kinda shy and introverted, but he was quite nice when i bbmed him - he used smiley faces and "hahaha"s and joked a bit, when he nearly never uses smiley faces

If a guy looks at you and smile awkwardly with his friends, AND if his friends does the same.
