Why do Athiests invent new terms like 'Social-media' when it's nothing new, isn't facebook?
Why do Athiests make this new term Social media when it's nothing more than message boards for people to post things. Message boards has been around since forever.

And twitter, isn't that just some form of irc , except slower? Or just another message board with auto refresh?

What is this 'social media' thing.

Look
"theGlobe.com was an internet startup founded in 1994 by Cornell students Stephan Paternot and Todd Krizelman. A social networking service, theGlobe.com"

Wtf does that have to do with Atheists you prat.

Seriously do you randomly put words into a sentence and then add 'atheist' somewhere to make a question?

You need beating about the head with a 3 iron just for jolly.

I don't remember atheists creating the term..? But social media is different from older media types in ways like quality, reach, and immediacy.

All those things you mentioned are forms of social media...

It's not only atheists that makes these things. Christianmingle.com? God created that. (Sarcasm)

I don't think it's an atheist thing, but the buzzwords "social media" started to appear at the moment that journalists needed a concise term to describe the activity. Many of our new words come to us through news media, and that means your suspicion is well founded. Journalists like to feel that they are important by being the first to talk about something. The same way a gossip loves to be the first one with a new rumor.

That means reporters often spin an old story as if it were some shocking new event or trend, when in fact it's just the same old thing with new buzzwords. "Social media" is the name they gave to online interaction that had been going on for decades. They sure weren't going to admit "actually, it's not news but we only just now heard about this thing".
