Is there a way to edit pictures in Instagram after they have been posted?

I have some old Instagram pictures that could use some major editing, photos I posted when I was an Instagram amateur, I'd just like to do some simple things like add some white spaces and such, is there maybe a 3rd party website or app that let's me do so?

Not that I know of. But you can edit them and repost them.

Retouch your original images (saving them as a different file name so that you do not overwrite the original) and then delete to old image and post the new one.

You can only download it again and reshape it again.
