Directioners: Have you seen the documentary?
Have you seen the documentary called Crazy about One Direction? I've seen part of it on youtube. It made directioners look bad. Not all of us are like that.

My real question is is it true that some larry shippers killed themselves because of it? People on twitter kept on trending #RIPlaryshippers Is this true? I'm hoping not? :/

Yes. I've seen it.

BBC-4

No. It isn't true that 1D fans killed themselves due to the documentary.

The fans that were highlighted in the BBC4 doc were simply speaking without bothering to self-edit and unfortunately their words were taken out of context. "..Well I would just die..I would just kill myself, if I couldn't meet Harry".. would be an example. The person doesn't literally mean she would jump off of a bridge.. she's just being overly-dramatic-kind of thing and speaking like a 14 yr. old. 1D fans are not mature, 30 yrs. olds.

The Larry shippers are those fans who choose to fantasise about Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson being in-love so that they won't have to feel jealousy that either guy has a gf. Most of these girls depicted don't have real-life bf's and never have. They're fantasising about one (or all) of 1D and for now they're good with that. However the Larry shippers have put a whole new slant on 1D fandom. There’s a lot of conflict between Larry shippers and other fans who support Louis Tomlinson’s relationship with his real-life girlfriend Eleanor, with both sides regularly accusing each other of cyberbullying.

The doc, 'Crazy About One Direction' not only inspired anger from 1D fandom in general, but it also led to a new wave of hateful tweets and Tumblr messages directed at Larry shippers. The intensity of the hate-mail received by Larry shippers on Twitter and Tumblr is part of the reason why so many fans found it plausible that multiple fans might have taken their own lives.

One Direction fandom is no stranger to unsubstantiated suicide rumors, which spread fast and furious (by trolls). First, someone will tweet a number of “suicides” (in this case, 14), which will then be passed along via Twitter and Tumblr, occasionally developing into a trending hashtag— #RIPLarryShippers.

With a high-profile cyberbullying-related suicide currently making headlines in the U.K., the topic is not far from anyone’s mind. However, while 1D fans have had to deal with plenty of online harassment in the past, there’s no evidence of any fans ever killing themselves as a result of fandom flame wars. In fact, 1D fandom rallied in support of one suicidal teen last year, helping to save her life by calling 911 and contacting her family. Of course people realise (or at least the majority of people) that all 1D fans are not all obsessed and crazed, manic stalker-types.
