Apple laptop or other suggestions?
It's either the 13" Macbook Pro or 13" Macbook air. (Or any suggestions you may have)

I'm not a very good when it comes to laptops and now that my current four year old HP laptop is dying a painful death I know it's time for me to look for a new laptop.

Things I'll need my laptop for:

- Writing essays (lots of them)

- Internet browsing (preferably watching HD youtube vidoes and social media)

- Itunes (to store all my music, I'm just throwing this out there because Itunes uses tons of space especially on my current laptop)

- I do like to watch some DVDS and I know that I'd have to buy a DVD player separately if I get a mac, it's just if you're going to recommend a completely different laptop.

- I don't want it to be slow either, so something that runs new and up to date, fast software

- webcam

- I also need a reliable amount of memory for all my essays and some pictures

- price range up to £1500 (less would be much, much preferred though Tongue )

Thanks for your answers, feel free to recommend any different laptops that you'd think would fit my purpose.

I'd recommend buying a performance Ultrabook. They're extremely thin and good looking, yet they pack a powerful processor to handle entertainment and intensive multimedia programs. I would not recommend a Mac Book Pro for just watching videos, browsing the internet. Though i'd recommend a 13' Mac Book Air 2013. They have a long battery life with OS Mavericks (12 Hours), and a really nice display with a high pixel density. By all means buy a Mac Book Air. You can buy a external DVD player which connects to your computer. Just don't forget apple has really expensive hard drives so you will be paying a premium for a big hard drive on your mac.

Best of Luck
