How do i get my instagram back?

Instagram just changed my password because i logged into my account on my mac, i tried logging back in on my iPhone but it said that they changed my password to secure my account. So i followed all the instructions until it brought me to my email sequoia10@live.com. i haven't used this email for like a year now..... I can prove that this ig account s_plus_c is mine in many ways. I'm not trying to hack anyone's account or anything like that. My name is sequoia Castillo and my girlfriends name is Candace, that's why my ig username is "s_plus_c" there's pictures on my ig of MY back yard. Please help me get it back, and don't refer me to the Instagram help center because they do nothing. And Instagram has no right to change my password either, they have to notify me first. PLEASE HELP

This is a public forum so any information you post here can be seen by anyone on the internet. If what you posted is proof of account ownership then you just let everyone know the email address you registered to receive password reset information and the contents of your account.

If you read the following line from the Instagram TOS you will find they can change your password to protect their system.

We reserve the right to modify or terminate the Service or your access to the Service for any reason, without notice, at any time, and without liability to you.
