why does someone poke u on facebook?

Pokes are most likely ment as a small and quick attention-er. There are usually no big masterplans behind a poke, and it doesnt mean anything.

I really thought that this poke thing was over with. From what I've seen, it's mainly used by kids as a way to get someone's attention. When an adult wants to get someone's attention on Facebook, they will message that person. Maybe this person wants you to know that you can contact him via Facebook, but, really, the only one who can answer your question is the poker.

I think it is a symbol to attention anyone. Otherwise there is no big deal of this action on facebook.

First of all Facebook gives us the option that we can poke someone,thats why many of us do poke,poke its like miss call or something like that.
