question about facebook friend count?

I know this sounds really sad but i don't have facebook and everyone else does (im 17) i want it but because i have been so slow on the uptake im worried about having an initial really low friend count, I have friends , but not like 100. will people know i only just joined and how quickly will friend count go up. This sounds pathetic and it doesn't really matter but im just worried (silly lol)

i dnt thing its silly :L but facebook is normally just to keepin in contact with your friends, it doesnt matter how many friend you have

People will know you just joined but it doesn't matter, nobody cares that much. Most people will just be glad they can invite another person. I didn't think I will get like 30 but I have like a little over 100 "friends" now.
