MEDIA IN THE WORLD TODAY?
How do you think media has changed the US culture? Do you think they have made people more connected or less connected? Can you identify some consequences of social media? Why do you think some countries limit or ban some of these media?

It is probably true that social media have allowed people to form numerous but weak connections with others, some of whom they may never know in "real" life. As a greater and greater number of work tasks use the computer and associated applications, many people grow up with the computer as an ever-present companion. As with work, then, so with play, and for young people today, the safe stimulation of communication with others who can be dismissed with the ease of a mouse click is irresistible.
Of course, knowing someone online is not the same as knowing someone in real life, but often people forget this, and trust the ambiguous and unreliable messages they receive from their "friends."
