Twitter allows you to sometimes follow your favorite celebrities. That's how I got started on it. Soon I started to tweet questions to these celebrities and when they began answering me back I suddenly got really into tweeting my everyday things. Twitter has privacy options but only two so if you don't protect your tweets anyone in the world can see which is sometimes bad... but you block people who try to follow you that you don't know. Personally on twitter, I have made a lot of friends from other countries, etc. I'd give it a try...
