facebook privacy help?
I have my facebook set as privatly as I can but my Mother just showed me her facebook account and I was disturbed to see how much info about me comes up in her home page. All of my comments on peoples walls and photos are visable, and these are people she does not even know and is not friends with! I do not want to prodcast to everyone every time I comment on a friends status or photo. It has put me off writing ANYTHING on facebook now knowing its going to come up in everyones wall. Its weird though, I can only see things my friends write to each other and I thought thats how it was for everyone. Why is my Mother seeing every little thing I put on anyones page even though she is not friends with these people? and how to I change my privacy settings to get it to stop announcing to the world that I like someones photo or status. Its disturbingly stalkerish.

This is why they call it stalkbook
That being said -- you can set the privacy settings to block strangers from seeing personal information about you, HOWEVER if you post a comment on someone else's page, and their Wall security is set to public, then everyone will see what you said to them. In this case there's nothing you can do, except ask your friends to apply the same sort of security measures that you apply to your account. You can do this by warning them about the dangers etc but if they are young, then they simply might not care because they are ignorant of the dangers. Anyway, good luck and be careful out there! Go to privacy settings, go to customize, and set everything to friends only. Or if you don't want your mom to see, customize and say friends only minus mom. But if your friends are open for everyone you can't really stop that, its there page that is being shown, not yours.
