Why is that, one facebook group has 40.000 members, other with about same name has only about 100?

Why is that, one facebook group has 40.000 members, other with about same name has only about 100?
I guess when they make a group they post to their friends to invite everyone. Then what makes such a huge difference between a huge group and a tiny group?

The one with more followers was probably made first, which gave it more time to grow, and be promoted. The one with the same name will never grow as large

They go to Fiverr.com and pay 5 bucks to have tens of thousands of people added to their follower list. Sometimes these people are merely fake accounts made to look real and sometimes they're real people.
