Where were the screams and tantrums when they passed the law that you HAVE to show ID to buy cough syrup?

Excellent point. Very excellent point. Furthermore, isn't it a "war on drugs" too? Another thing that side of the spectrum throws twitter rants about.

That's just a store by store policy, not law. When I cashied at walmart, I wouldn't ID for cough meds.

I don't believe that purchasing codeine is a civil right. I DO believe that voting is a civil right, and that forcing Americans to purchase documentation in order to obtain a voter ID is a poll tax.
