PC turns off on windows boot?
its loads just fine on safe mode and stays like that with no issue.

but does not load on regular boot. it doesn't even boot a windows off the cd drive, as soon as it hits the windows logo it shutdown, as if someone unplugged it.

whats going on?

You have a conflict that prevents the OS from loading that is disabled in safe mode, so then the computer can boot.

Did you install anything, uninstall anything, add hardware, add anything, remove anything?

Hello Ed,

Its possible that it could be hardware / software related issue.

Note: Please if you haven't already, do data backup before doing anything, if it is possible hard drive related issue, you could be at risk of loosing your data.

First I would check for blown capacitors if you have a desktop. Its what I call level 1 diagnostics. Clean computer out from any dust. Then go ahead check for any overheating that might be causing the shutting down issue. If all above passes, then we can further diagnose issue.

Reset RAM in your computer

Still having issue? I would go ahead run diagnostics.

Some computer manufacturers will have some sort of diagnostic utility for you to use.

Dell is usually upon booting the computer hit "F12" to access diagnostic

HP is usually "ESC" to enter diagnostic

If not you can use Seagates HDD diagnostics and Western Digital Diagnostics utility to check the hard drive health.

Seagate Diagnostics -http://www.seagate.com/support/internal-...

Western Digital Diagnostics-http://support.wd.com/product/download.a...

Note: If it is indeed bad HDD I would replace it ASAP and try to grab OS recovery disc to reinstall windows.

I would run memtest86 for RAM diagnostics to make sure you don't have faulty RAM- http://www.memtest86.com/download.htm

Passes HDD/RAM diagnostics?

Then its possible issue relating to software, if your unsure what to do I would recommend taking to local repair shop for further repairs.

I would firstly run AV scans, if you anti virus software installed go ahead run a full scan

I would recommend running malwarebytes as well -http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/

Remove any infections found

Try opening command prompt and run system file checker
Run command prompt as admin. Type sfc /scannow. See if this will resolve your issue.

Try performing a clean boot, here is link from Microsoft website, how to guide for clean boot - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

If all else fails I would recommend going to local repair shop for further repairs as mentioned above.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to help!
