Is Facebook keeping track of the pages I visit?
In the "Find people" section, it keeps suggesting after I type in a couple of letters, names of people whose profile I looked at, even only once. It' s been going on like that for the past few days. Can they know I visited their page and can they get access to the names of the other people I've been either checking or who are my Facebook friends? Anyway to deactivate this? Thank you for your help.

Yes they do - like google they keep a record of everything you do.
This is not a lie and I highly suggest if not deleting it, be VERY careful what you do and say.
