Get a guest speaker like a doctor and someone with cerebral palsy to speak handout information on the subject and have drinks and food

Guess I don't see what the point is. It's not like it's some rare disease that no one knows about. And how would more knowledge change anything?

hi. youtube is a way to educate and inform people all round the world. there is a really sexy guy on there who is a paraplegic. he has put up videos showing people how he dresses himself, transfer in and out his wheelchair and other day to day activities. many people don't know that paralysis can cause severe pain and muscle spasticity so he also discusses that. i watched his videos as i am relatively new to being disabled and hints and tips are all useful.

strictly informative videos are ok but showing people what a person with CP can do and making it fun is the best way to educate. parents of a child newly diagnosed with CP will get the medical information given to them but seeing someone with CP overcoming their condition and having a fun and fulfilling life is what they really could do with.

most hospitals run "expert patient" programmes where patients with a particular illness share their information with newly diagnosed patients and help them adapt. contact your local Guide and PALS service to see if you can be of help.

best wishes, A x
