Random Facebook Notifications?

Facebook keeps giving me notifications that certain friends (at least 4 different ones) update their statuses, when they do. I'm not in a group with any of these people, and they aren't in any of my lists, like close friends, acquaintances, ect and I'm also not subscribed to any of them. I'm out of ideas of what else it could be... Help?

By notifications, do you emails or text messages? Then you probably need to go into your account settings and edit what notifications Facebook sends you or how often they're sent. You could also try clicking on the pull-down arrow in the top right corner of one of their posts on your news feed and changing the settings there.
