can someone explain the friends listing on facebook please?

So there is a block of pictures of the friends you are with on facebook on the left side when you click on your profile. I see the same picture of this one guy I am friends with but even though I have looked at his profile I have not commented in about a week on his posts. Does this mean that he is also viewing my profile a lot? and sometimes the pictures change but his picture is always the first one on there.

I doubt he is viewing your profile a lot, sorry. I think there are just the friends YOU communicate the most and view their profiles more often than the others.
