Facebook for iPhone app??? need help plz?

ok so i have an ipod touch and i heard that the facebook app works for that but u have to be connected to wifi. so i connected to the wifi in my house and tried using it but whenever i try to log in it just says "Login Failed. Unable to connect to facebook. please try again later" so i tried again and it just did the same thing. i tried it at my school yesterday and it didnt have the unable to login thing but it took forever to log in. i pressed the home button then i pressed the facebook app again and it looked like i logged in but whenever i went to like my friends or something on it it said that the page was unable to load because i wasnt connected to wifi. so i went to my setting and connected to it then i tried it again and the same thing happened. it works on my friends ipod but not mine. can someone tell me if its a problem with my ipod or with the app and a way to fix it....PLZ????

Have you updated the ipod software lately? If not do so or delete the app and reinstall
