What are your views on feminism and antifemism?
I've read blogs and have listen to my friends say that they are antifemists? I thought that feminism was for the promotion of equal rights and was fought for several decades ago. Why are some women against that? Maybe some people are gettig the definitins confused. I read about feminism on this site.

I don't like feminism personally. I would rather have the man go to work and me stay at home. I also like traditional gender roles. I don't even wear jeans. No one in real life agrees with me...

Feminism has some good aspects, but it's become corrupted and greedy. Anti-feminists are really no better, and I don't blame them. Fight fire with fire. Being a pacifist will get you no where since "nice guys finish last" is a popular phrase for a reason, because it's usually true. Anti-feminists counter the greed and corruption of feminism, so in a way they're actually supporting what feminism is suppose to represent: gender equality. Feminists say they want equality but they aim for female superiority. Anti-feminists attempt to tip the scales in favor of equality. So if you ask me some of the anti-feminists out there support the original concept of feminism better than most feminists do. Feminism was originally about equality, not superiority.

I wish feminism would go away and women started supporting women's rights instead, it's a less deceptive term than feminism. I support anti-feminists, like the MRA's, because they stand up for men and they don't attack women's rights which are just and fair. They basically keep feminists from asking for too much, which they often do. But if feminism went away I hope that the MRA would go away, too. Anti-feminists are only necessary because of the existence of feminism.

Believe it or not, being an anti-feminist who supports women's rights is not an oxymoron.

Feminism is not about equality any longer as women in many ways have additional rights that men do not have. First Wave feminism was an equality discipline...from the Second Wave onwards, it's been about the promotion of the idea of "matriarchy," or promoting women to positions of power and control within society. Ironically though, feminists have shown little interest in women picking up all of the responsibilities that have traditionally been hoisted on men.

Feminists do not seem to support the idea of women being conscripted into the military; they do not seem to support the idea of treating women who break the law as harshly as men are treated; they do not seem to support sharing domestic violence resources with men who are the victims of abuse; etc...

Anti-feminism was originally a term used in a pejorative sense to describe those who did not agree with feminisms objectives. Over time, those who have been called "anti-feminists" have embraced the term because they are openly hostile towards feminism.

Both sides can range in terms of the extremes, however it's important to note that with anti-feminism, because the term denotes someone who stands in opposition to feminism, the beliefs can vary much more broadly.

In addition, some female writers have noted that feminists use the term "anti-feminist" to silence opposition to their programs!

I think feminism is destructive at this point in time, and I think that anti-feminism is largely reactionary at this point...although that's changing!

Feminism was about getting equal rights in a time when women couldn't vote, work, own property properly, inherit etc.

But it is now associated with the extremists (like the ones who say (all consensual loving) sex = rape).

Anti-feminism is just as bad. It largely seemed to be men who got screwed over in the family court (and yeah there are men who got screwed) but now it is all hating everything about women to the extreme.

Feminism has never been about equal rights. The feminist movement was created by a bunch of smelly, ignorant, emotionally damaged lesbians who's primary goal is the hatred of men. In order to be taken seriously they lied about rape and domestic violence telling women that men are violent rapists and women are victims. The truth is women are just as violent as men and almost half of reported rapes never happened.

The radical feminists who actually run the movement are bare faced liars. The ordinary women who support feminism because they think that feminism stands for equal rights are just plain stupid.

Feminism has changed, it is no longer driven by man hatred, it is now driven by money. The domestic violence industry and the rape industry are both very lucrative for feminists. The more hysteria they create by exaggerating men's evilness the more money they attract in Government grants and other forms of funding. This means nice well paid cosy jobs for feminists in various agencies and Government departments which cater for women's interests at the expense of men's.

The feminist movement is a way for selfish women to make money.
