I think you are talking about hiding your friend list. Go to privacy setting, then contol who can find me (somethingg like that, don't remember exact words), then select customise option next to 'see my friend list', select only me,, then okay.

There's is actually (or there use to be) I've set my account like that, None of my friends sees my friend list, my boyfriend's page is also like that, I can't see his friends when I go on his page unless I sign into his account. Buh latelly I tried doin it for my friend who wantd the same, but I couldn't find the option anymore, or I just couldn't remember, but I guess the option has been removed

First of all you go in privacy setting and click on customize setting. There is option to hide your friends.
