What are my rights of privacy?
I live in Canada and I'm 14, and I live in a town of 25 000... I was posting on Facebook this morning and since exams were cancelled the radio stations all told us. But I was already on the bus. So on a status I commented about how I should go in a chirp them but I said in the comment I was jk, and the radio station started making fun of me on the radio... They said my name and everything and didn't include me saying that I was kidding... Probably like 5000 people heard that.... I'm on the bus right now almost crying, I don't know what to do.. Is that even legal? don't they need to ask me permission before they say anything about me? I'm so upset because I know everyone will hound me about this forever and people I know will hear and I just am really upset I'm not even going to my classes today Sad what can I do? Is that legal in Canada?

was this on your own Facebook wall, or did you post to the radio stations page as a comment? If it's your own wall then they can't do that and you should make a complaint, if it's a response to something they wrote on their page then you made a public comment and they can use it.

Are you serious? You posted something on Facebook where everyone in the world can see it and you think it should be private? Are you really that stupid? You essentially stood on a mountain top and screamed it to the entire world! You have no right to privacy if you post something publicly.

If you are using FB then you gave up any 'rights' you had it is a world wide website and anything you post is open to be used, discussed etc........... learn about 'rights' as they also include responsibilities...... you have a responsibility not to post if you don't want it used.......... and is the ONLY way you can protect any rights you have, you chose not to

Of course it's legal, especially if you posted on their wall.

There IS no privacy on the internet. This is why folks say be careful what you say/do on the net.
