Internet Connection problem?
OK, I found this problem very annoying to me, I formated my Desktop Computer and my Laptop at the same time. Now the problem begins (Problem occured even I did not format it) I download something, example is skype. I download skype in my Desktop and Laptop at the same time. But my Laptop is download skype faster than my Desktop downloading skype.

To clarify more, I download skype which is 34MB with a speed of 18.5kb (Desktop)
I download skype which is 34MB with a speed of 165kb ( Laptop)

So why? My Desktop Computer has better spec than my laptop?

Any reason why?

Help would be very appreciated.

Hi JFR,

Could be a few things going on.

Are there different antivirus programs installed (usually comes with at least a trial that gets reinstalled with factory image recovery)? Make sure to run the Norton and McAfee removal tools for any trials from these manufactures as the add/remove programs sometimes leaves leftovers.

Also could just be from a hardware standpoint. If it's an older desktop with older components for RAM, processor, Ethernet card, etc it could be running slower than a newer laptop even with "better specs."
Is one wireless and the other hardwired? The router's LAN port (or LAN capability entirely) could be beginning to go out.

This would depend on the Internet connection for each machine. Download speeds have little to do with computer specs.it also depends on if you downloaded at different times. Download speed can vary, depending on the traffic on your ISP.
