deleted from friend, then they either blocked or deactivated account?
Deleted someone on facebook, then they either deleted their facebook or blocked me. I can't search them anymore but when I go to my messages they are still there with the name and pic.

Maybe you could try to create a new facebook then search this user, if he shows up then the person blocked you, if he didn't show up then he just deactivated his account.

The Only Way is to Test it And See Ask One of your Friends to Try looking Up There Profile on Facebook if They Can Than You Been Blocked if They Cant Than They Probably Have Deactivated There Account

or maybe facebook suspended their account... does the name for the messages say "facebook user"?
