If they're unmarried, or not living together... I think it's rather silly. It's also looking for trouble come time to break up.

My wife and I share an account for our business / family information, but also have separate accounts... we certainly don't hide anything from each other though. Then again, we've been married for almost 30 years now... back before the internet existed.
