It's different, thats all. I do admit at first in didn't seem so useful. But after a few weeks i think its pretty cool.

I can't find any way to get back the functionality of the old facebook profile... I've put some effort into looking for a way to revert...
I want easy access to my links, and facebook has made it a difficult multi-step process to see them.

Unfortunately there is no way to switch back to the old design after you upgrade to the new Facebook profile. As Facebook is implementing this change gradually, sooner or later all the users will have the new profile, and there is no way back from it.
