There could not. The sun is the only real provider of natural light - there is starlight but that again comes from suns and aren't enough to light up the night.
Then again the bible is so full of stupid mistakes so this is just one of the more obvious ones. |

God is the light in the future. So I think God was the light in Genesis.
here it is: Revelation 21 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. |

The sun is not the only source of light. we still have light without the sun don't we? (well artificial) but id we're talking about the Bible then we may never know cause God has performed even the most crazy of miracles. hope this helped.
