Does facebook automatically send friend requests?

[Bug]

I made a facebook with a fake name to see what the hell facebook was, but added my real high school and network are thing


then I get a ton of e-mails from people at my high school accepting my friend requests


I never sent out any, WTF? I didn't even know how to send them.
And they are not friend requests from them... they say "BLAH BLAH has confirmed you as a friend on facebook"

if u r, i think someones using ur facebook. if i were u id change my password asap. get to it! who knows what else theyll do with ur facebook

Yes they do. Don't listen to these guys. I'm trying to help out one of my acquaintances who just opened a new account, and is getting bombarded with messages saying people accepted friend requests (even got one from a teacher on there, which is pretty embarrassing). And there is also this article here which shows a terrible consequence for a poor fellow:

FACEBOOK SENDING REQUEST WITHOUT MY PERMISSION (((SOLVED))) This happen to me for a few days until I found out what was happening..I synce my phone with FB and its taking all my gmail contacts and yahoo contact from my phone and sending invites to there cell or email.
