Reason for needing constant social media updates?
I hate talking to people but when I'm online I spend every spare minute I have checking Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, DeviantArt, YouTube, and my email and whenever I'm not receiving new posts or updates I become extremely irritated. I'm almost certain I have Aspergers but I'm not sure if this falls under the obsessiveness or if it's something else. The reason I think it may be something else is that it has only started in the last month or two while the other symptoms have been around for years.
Even if your answer isn't the most helpful it would be appreciated. NOTHING is updating and I can only pace the house and poke the cat for so long before things get weird. I may be coming across as selfish and whiney but I haven't slept in 2 days and I really don't care about much other then getting more information to process.

From your post, I sense that you have an addiction to social media sites. You really need to divert yourself from some of these activities, because, I have to admit - these can be very addictive.

Easier said than done, but it requires a consistent effort from you to divert your mind into other activities. Ask yourself the question: "What will I truly lose if I didn't check messages for an hour?"

Think about what keeps you attracted to these sites, and reward yourself for an hour you've spent without checking your messages.

If its needed, you might want to fix an appointment with a psychotherapist.

Good luck.
