Whats the best way to start talking to a guy through Facebook?

So there's like several guys on Facebook I'm friends with and I'm interested in, what should I do to approach/talk to him? If I don't know them that well, what should I start off by saying? I don't wanna come off too strong or anything. Basically what I'm saying is, how do I go about messaging a guy on fb without sounding like a creep lol. I'm 19 btw

Just say something short and try to get a conversation started. If you've talked to them at all bring up something you've talked about or compliment them on sports or something. If you've got nothing, Hey always works. It's pretty obvious what you want without sounding creepy or desperate in my opinion.
