I have only 43 friends on Facebook, is this a bad thing?

People have asked me why I have few friends on Facebook... I feel embarrassed about having so few friends. I use Facebook to keep in touch with friends from the past, also people that reciprocate status likes and comments. I've deleted people in the past that never speak to me on Facebook, nor comment or wish me a happy birthday. Now I only have 43 friends.... I feel like people are belittling me or think that I'm weird/psycho since I have few friends. Should I be embarrassed? I'm a very private person and I don't post everything on Facebook.

why should you care? i have few frineds in comparison to a lot of mine. but i don't really care why, cos i know all of them well, none of them are strangers

I only have a few too because I dont like people who arent close seeing my pictures or info and I dont care about their life. I dont think you should be embarrassed really. Everyone else are just too open/attention whorey.

your friends are psycho . you're not because who add the one whom she/he know is the coolest thing and who add every one they're like not so good so u should not have to embarassed n all . If ur friends say some thing about it so just ignore it

no. it's not a bad thing. it's better to have a few people that you actually know than hundreds of people you barely know who are able to access your personal information because you never know what some people will do with it.
