Facebook group help!!?

I created a facebook group for a charity run my cross country team is putting on. I tried inviting all of the cross country girls to join but when i was inviting some of them didn't show up in my friends for some reason. I am friends with all of them so it was weird that they didn't show up. So i made it an open group where people could join without being invited but they still couldn't join. When you find the group there is no way to join...no join button, nothing. Anyone know what happened or how to fix it??

You need to create a global group so anyone in any network can join.
