I lost my cat, and I know who might have him, but I only have their Facebook. What should I do?
I was scrolling down my news feed, when I came upon a picture of a cat that looks MORE than similar to the one I had a few months ago, but unfortunately ran away. I contacted the page, who then sent me the persons Facebook account. I contacted the person who shared the picture, yet they argue that they've had the cat since it was 6 weeks old. Now, keep in mind this cat has unique features, and I can tell my cat out of 1,000. My cat was my whole world Sad my heart broke when he ran away, what should i do?
- And no I cannot meet up with this person.
-The cat has distinctive features, He has a batman mask on his face, I dont think nature can make that happen twice...
-And yes, the cat is micro chipped

You can have the same cat with the same features you know. i know its heart breaking that your cat left but they do this for many reasons... the go away to die, the go to other people that feed them etc. if this was your cat and you brought it back then it would just go again, cats are very unloyal creatures they are still classed as feral im afraid so there is nothing you can do but to just get on with life.

I would let it go. I would rather not get into a fight or legal battle with some random person over a cat. I know you love your cat but you let it out, it ran away, and now some one else is taking care of it. Adopt a new cat and take better care to make sure it doesn't run away.

call the police....but you better be able to prove your cat is yours, e.g. it's microchipped or something.

Many cats have the feature. Its not that distinctive
YOU let the cat roam outside.
So what if someone has a cat that looks like yours, does not mean its yours.
If the cat is micro-chipped then that can prove its your cat but since you have no proof its you cat there is nothing you can do
The cops won't do anything since there is no proof its your cat
