If I've watched a post from a FB group BUT through my main timeline, will they know?
A friend of mine commented on a FB group I also belong to. So I read the post BUT by using my main newsfeed pr FB wall. Will they know I did it ("seen by"). Thanks!

No, only going into the group itself then it will display your name in 'seen by'. News feed will never show who saw the post.
