Can i get in trouble for this?
Someone I used to be friends with ( we had a big fight) demanded that i remove all Facebook photos I have that they are in and I said no because they are mostly group pictures of us with other people at a dance and I don't want to delete those photos. Can I get in trouble with the law for that? They blocked and unfriended me so it automatically untagged them from the photos and my profile/photos are set so only my friends can view them.

No, if you had their permission before you took the photos, or if they were in a public place you can do what you want with the photos. There's no reason you could be forced by the law to take the photos off. They're your photos and they've known they were on the internet all this time so there is no valid reason for them to want you to take them down.

No, you will not get in trouble for that. Because you did not stole their picture or take picture of them without them noticing. They are your exfriends. Those photo is still yours to keep. Since they unfriended you, they will not see those photos.
