Advertising Advice/Help?
I'm interested in learning how to commercial advertise and I need help. I love the idea and methods of it and I am really passionate about it. I really would like your help or advice on how to start. I kind of need someones guidance, if possible. How could I start that?

Read a lot of books, attend creatives seminars, engage with advertising people and gurus on social-media, test your skills, apply for an internship with a local advertising agency/house, and most of all be CREATIVE!

Commercial advertising can be a series of things. Are you talking about TV advertising or in-store advertising like Displays and signage? Generally speaking, Commercial advertising requires targeting. So think of a group of people you're looking to interact with, i.e. college men age 18-21. What do they like/dislike? What do they find funny or stupid? Then you create an ad surrounding that age group that makes them enjoy the ad more. The idea is to generates enough interest to send viewers to retailers and purchase goods. Most TV/Radio ads serve as brand building or presence of mind. Couponing efforts and print ads serve to get people to buy. Also, interactions with consumers depends on the category that you're in. TV works better with cars because you're dealing with consumers that tend to have higher levels of disposable income and an older demographic. Technology works better with both TV and Social Media as it caters to both younger demographics and older more affluent demographics.

To really learn about advertising, you have to get into the industry. You can read books about it or attend class, but you won't really experience it until you're in it.
