How do I stop text messages from someone else's facebook account?

I recently got a new cell phone number and ever since I did, I receive someone else's facebook notifications via text message. I assume, the person who owned my number before me still has it linked to facebook. I searched the number on facebook and found a match, I asked him to update his information but, as of late, to no avail. Are there any other avenues to take to stop these annoying texts? I can't just block the number because the number changes for every notification text message.

By adding a phone number to your facebook account. Then youll receive a fb confirmation code by text and thatw ay the other persons fb/ phonenumber will be put out of use automatically.
