Okay, cyber-punk fans; I'm looking for two books I read over twenty years ago. Please help.?
The first is a William Gibson type (but not Mr Gibson himself or it’d be easy), about a social media figure, possible a singer, who is cloned one night without her knowledge, I’m fairly sure it involves some guy discovering AI, but that is about all I remember. The second is a pulp fiction cyber punk type, about a guy with no memory who ends up working for some kind of underground movement in a corporate future city, barely remember anything about this one, except that a car he drives is sponsored by a cosmetic company, there are various clichés and gangs including vampires/vampire wanabees, and some sort of giant spider/alien threat, oh, and near the end he tells a story to a group of dinner guests eating clam chowder about a man who drinks a spittoon. I will admit that both of these are probably a bit of a challenge, but let’s see if there is someone out there who really knows their early-90s cyberpunk novels. Thank you for your help, I’d really love to read these books again.

The first sounds like something Pat Cadigan would write, but I'm not having any luck finding a direct match. Could it be a short story as opposed to a novel?
Goodreads has a decent list of cyberpunk novels at https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/487....unk#304806 that may help spark your memory. If nothing else, it might give you some good new reading material. Ads |
