So a year ago I met this girl on the net who turned to be a con artist & scammed me out of $600. Ever since then, Ive got people adding me who I know are conartists. Should I create a new profile under my middle name.

There's no reason to do that. Just make your profile private and never accept a Friend request or answer a message from anyone you don't know as they will keep targeting you
I hope you filed a police report against the scammer - these scams will never stop as long as people are too embarassed to go to the police so they can find these people

no, creating another account is actually against the rules, and so it using a fake name

just change your settings so that people have to have at least 1 friend in common with you in order to send you a friend request, and stop adding people you dont know in real life
