Can anyone get in on the first day of trading Facebook?
Outside of the big guys buying Facebook, can the average stock buyer buy stock at the opening of the bell

Probably not at the opening due to the pre-orders from the big boys. The stock will be oversubscribed and shares will immediately be pushed up in price by any of the subscribers who want to get out at a profit. The big question is where do you buy at (the later the buy, even a few minutes can mean a couple of dollars per share) and where does it top out in relation to your buy. Then, how long until it comes back down.

Yes you will be able to buy Facebook on the opening day, but you will not receive the price set by the underwriter. You can buy it in the open market but not the IPO price.

Call your Broker and ask them if they are participating ,..and whether you are eligible to buy before the open..It's not just the Big Guys, shares are allotted, all around..but it depends on what broker you have,..
