why does facebook tell me i have more liked pages than i actually do?

when i was younger i used to like practically every facebook page i saw but now i have way too many 'liked' pages, literally 1000s. i finally managed to unlike most of them, but now facebook says i still have 1369 'liked' pages when i go on my profile, even though i have spent hours unliking most of my facebook pages and whenever i go onto 'edit likes' it only shows the 'liked' pages i meant to keep. what is going on??

The easiest way to stop receiving updates from a Page is to click Unsubscribe directly from a page update that you received. Additionally, you can click on the Edit Updates Settings link in the bottom right corner of the Updates tab in your Messages.
