Is spotify really free?
So I dowloaded spotify, signed in with my facebook account, and it works. So, is it really free, or is it just free for 30 days and then you're going to have to pay for it?

Yes it is free (with advertisements). You only pay if you upgrade to the Premium account - no advertisements and higher sound quality - there is a free 30 day trial for Premium accounts.

Depends on the device you want to use it on. If it's the computer, tablet or phone (with restrictions) it is free but you'll be put onto the ad supported version. You will hear adverts every so often, and will be limited in time to 10 hours per month (2.5 hours per week) in the UK (check Spotify's website for other countries).
The free version on PC and tablet will allow on demand streaming. The mobile variant will require a "shuffle play" of an artist or playlist on the free version. Obviously, on the premium version (£10/month or equivalent) you will have no adverts, no limits and on demand streaming on all devices - plus you'll have the option for extreme quality streaming (320 kbps) and offline playlists for up to 3 of your devices. Sometimes, Spotify may send you an email saying they are offering a 30 day trial of the premium account, just cancel the trial before it ends and you won't be charged a penny. (However the free trial is only for those who haven't subscribed previously.) Hope that helps! |
