Are there any other teenagers who don't use social media at all?
I'm 18 and I used to have a Facebook from when I was about 14-16. I don't know why I made it but I did enjoy it to a certain extent. It lost steam pretty quickly and just turned into my peers complaining about how people should act, but doing exactly what they were preaching against.

I just see these websites as ways to inflate your own ego, especially websites like Instagram. Sweet Jesus, show me a better example of a site for people desperately trying to get arbitrary "likes" to feel better about themselves.

I see social media as more of a handicap because it can easily screw you over if you're careless with it.

Whatever happened to having conversations that don't revolve around what someone posted on Twitter? We can't even enjoy awkward silences anymore because people just whip out their phones, I miss those! I don't understand why people are so concerned with what everyone else is doing, nor do I understand why you would want to put yourself out there in such a blatant way for the world to see.

Granted I'm mentioning those who use these websites for superficial purposes. I mean in theory, these websites could be good but it's overshadowed by the type of people I'm talking about, so don't get offended.

I have a Skype however but I rarely use it. Haha so does anyone else not use these websites because I often feel alienated because of it. I guess I just prefer face to face interaction.

Yes, there are other teenagers who don't use social media for whatever reason. Sometimes it is because they don't have the technology available to them, sometimes it is because their interests are such that they don't have time for it - for example if they are quite involved in sports or hobbies, sometimes it is because their parents don't permit it, and sometimes it is because they make a conscious choice to avoid it. However, I think far more use it than don't.
