Help with ethics essay topics?

I have to write a short essay about a current ethical issue that has something to do with communication or PR, or a closely related field like advertising, marketing, or social media. Any suggestions for an interesting topic? I can't seem to find any recent, relevant topics. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Public Relations are on fire in the marketing field right now. See how many well known companies have a twitter and facebook. All these twitter and facebook are viral marketing. The best example of viral marketing is the facebook games or "bonus referals" where in both cases normal users do your marketing for you and it grows exponentially.

Do you think this referral bonus pop ups and post that you achieved this on this game are intrusive? Maybe there would be a choice to opt out on these "advertisements to advertise others"? Also, besides that, there are always advertisements in social media that fake the real thing, the real information, or put very little letters the details of the true deal, you know? Sometimes, ads on the internet do not allow you to escape from them, and so on. So in summary, my idea is about how ads can have an ethical issue on the level of intrusiveness to the user and the level of authenticity and clearness of its content.
