Young/new blogger ideas please?

Hi! I am a young person that is new to the blogosphere. I want to start my own blog because I think it would be fun, and I could use the extra practice of writing. With a blog I would feel more motivated to write, since it's for creativity and not school related. So, what are some beginner blogging ideas to get my foot in the door? What are interesting topics that people like to read?

Write about a subject you have a passion for, it improves the chances of your sticking with it long enough to make something of it.

Try to stick to a particular subject/theme with a blog name that identifies the subject for the sake of better search ranking and and clarity for potential visitors. There are too many people trying to cover a bunch of subjects or writing self indulgent diaries that have a harder time getting links and search ranking. Treat it like a publication business.

With Google Adwords ads you can earn $100 after perhaps 10,000 visitors, don't add monetization until you are getting good traffic.
