How to type words that link to another webpage?

(Usually on Tumblr,) I'll see someone type something, but one word or pair of words are bold and/or underlined and you can click it and it will send you to another webpage. Anyone have any clear step-by-step instructions on how to do that?

I am not a Tumblr user , but if you want to grab the
the basic principle, follow below

Open Ms office
Type in the word that you want to relate to the URL
Select the word , right click , chose hyperlink
On the Address line type in the URL(or paste), then save
Go back to the "word" (which will now be in blue and underline), click on it and see if this is what u r after.

if u copy and paste in email it will keep its formatting.
