Talk about video games. Throw in how consoles such as the Xbox 360 and PS3 have changed our society and made kids more violent. As far as the history portion goes, video games have been around awhile and contain a broad history if you want to go through the timeline of consoles. Hope this helps.

The easy thing to do is fall into the typical local vs Global. Do not fall into this trap

Because of technology advancement we as the human race have benefited immensely from it. Our generation has more information than any other before at our very finger tips. We are able to call anyone anywhere in the world and have a conversation with them. As a result of fast information our health has improved by leaps and bounds while also giving people in rural areas more opportunities for education that they simply did not have decades before.

In terms of social just look at the most recent wars that we would never have know existed if not for social media platforms like twitter. Compare all of this to some place like North Korea a place that is in a perpetual media black out. They are literally unable to exercise their human rights of freedom of speech.

Of course with this comes problems. How is society going to cope with such a rapid advancement in technology? This is really the clash of generations few generation X and fewer baby boomers understand what technology actually or does. heck most people think video games make you violent, it doesn't there have been cases done on this very topic that prove conclusively that violent video games do not have an effect on how violent you are.
