Samsung galaxy s4.
I have an iPhone but because at the moment it's the newest and Samsung have a big rivalry with apple it is the best as they constantly 'out do' each other

I use to have a Samsung Transform, and I know people swear by Samsung and Android; but I am in love with the iPhone 5. It's very responsive and the display is beautiful. I have had almost no problems with it. Money well spent for me.

I have s3 but think the htc one is stunning but going to wait out until the note 3

There is no real best phone in the world just the best phone that suits your own needs.
But the best phones available at the moment are the ...........
Galaxy s4
HTC one
iPhone 5
Sony xperia z
Nokia 1020

You cannot really go wrong with any of these high end phones so really it is a matter of what takes your fancy. At the minute I am using the galaxy s4 and I really like It I think it's the best all round smartphone available for me personally.

With many operating systems available now ... it makes the task of deciding the "Best phone" almost impossible.

So, first you have to decide on the operating system. I have been using Android since 2009, so when I had to use an iPhone for a month, it have driven me crazy. you've to decide on the OS first.

if iPhone, then just wait for few more weeks till the new handset gets released by Apple, then decide either iPhone 5 or whatever comes next.

Else if Android, there are only three phones that worth buying in that order for me:
A) hTC One ===> Awesome looking and features
B) Samsung Galaxy SIII ===> Best value per money although it's been in the market for almost a year
C) Samsung Galaxy S4 ===> Comparable to the hTC One but, cheaply built (hTC One is all Aluminium)
D) Sony Xperia Z is also an awesome phone ... but I don't know, didn't like it when I went phone shopping and tried it. It's an awesome phone (really water resistant) but, I don't like how it looks !

... and I have no idea about the Windows phone models, but I would suggest not to think about windows phone for the next one to two years till the market starts filling up with real apps as you still won't get instagram for Windows for example !!
