Firefox keeps opening tabs?

Every so often a new tab will open saying that my browser is out of date. I know that my browser is up to date and the website that keeps opening up isn't from Mozilla's website.

Is this a virus? I already scanned my laptop for viruses and I shouldn't have any. I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled it and I still have this problem. please help.

Brother i also think that this is a virus website. because i have installed latest version of Google Chrome and that website is saying for update my chrome version....

Did you install any unwanted plugin recently? Check out all the installed plug ins and if there's anything suspicious, uninstall it. Or you can also uninstall the whole browser and do a fresh installation afterwards.

Yup, some sort of Malware is causing that...Firefox does not open a new tab when an update is available. Scan your compute with Malwarebytes or something similar.
